Davao HoopStars brief History

According the post of the Commissioner

“It was early 2018 when a group of young professionals agreed to play basketball. They played at Woodridge, Sky Gym, and finally found residence at Garden Oases. It was their way of capping the work week with the sport they love and bonding as well. Back then, they dubbed their group as 'Ballers'.

During the first and 2nd month, attendees barely reached 20 per Friday. On the third month, attendance increased to 30 and that's when the group decided to create a tournament. The mainstay leader was appointed as the club's commissioner and another 7 constants joined the core. They now call themselves the 'Davao HoopStars Bibis'.

Onwards, we witnessed big leaps after another! The group was renamed as Davao HoopStars! An average of 70 players per Friday for 8 STRAIGHT weeks on the 4th and 5th month! Rising Stars Challenge Season 1 tipped-off! 1000+ fb page likes! 200+ members in messenger! And later, the opening night of the much awaited Season 2!

All of the mentioned above were because the 8 Bibis (Currently 6 who are titled, with positions in their respective jobs and businesses, and are certified professionals) humbly and tirelessly invested their time, effort, and ideas to the club but by the grace of God!

This League started as a regular pasingot every Friday. An outlet for stress in the workplace this club was intended for person in all walks of life and all classes. Basketball is know not just as a sport but a lifestyle, it promotes enjoyment at the same time discipline and commitment.

The first season featured 9 teams like Amped Athlete, S.I. Selection, Season Basketball, TYL(Commission of Audit employees), Boleros, First Option, Perpetual, Phantom and Fitz.

First Runner up: Amped Athlete

2^nd Runner up: S.I. Selection

This season, Season 2 there are again 9 teams competing for this said tournament. Currently they are in the semifinals stage of the tournament. As teams are competitive this season all of the games were grinding especially.

Teams like USANA, Ross Selection, Boleros, TYL, Alessa Taxi, Perpetual, Sirba, Security bank, and Season are in the said tournament.

Update March 6, 2019:

Requirements for Season 3 1. ELIGIBILITY RULE -2 practices for first-timers -1 practice for those who joined in Season 1 but were not able to join in Season 2 -None for those who joined Season 2 2. SUBMISSION (Limited slots) -As a team: 13-15 players (maximum of 2 commercial/active varsity players) -As an individual player, you will be teamed up with other players without a team -Maximum of 12 team submissions -Maximum of 60 individual player submissions 3. INCLUSIONS OF THE REGISTRATION FEE -FULL sublimated uniform (sando and short) designed by your team -In-game photos -Statistics -Awards (Best Player of the Game, Season MVP, Finals MVP, and more) -Prizes (Cash and more) -Opportunity to play in the All-Star Night events 4. REGISTRATION FEE -P1,700 per player -A team will be officially registered only upon payment of reservation fee (P7,500) -A player will be officially registered only upon payment of reservation fee (P500) 5. SCHEDULE FOR PRACTICE GAMES -March 7 (Thursday), 10PM -March 8 (Friday), 9PM -March 14 (Thursday), 8PM -March 15 (Friday), 9PM -March 21 (Thursday), 8PM -March 22 (Friday), 9PM -March 28 (Thursday), 8PM -March 29, (Friday) 9PM -All practices are at Evergold Gym, Obrero
